Shot with the Fujifilm x100v

Why you should photowalk at least once a week.

My first blog! How well this goes, or how long this lasts nobody knows. I will attempt to blog many of my past and exciting upcoming travels, photography I've captured along the way and any photography tips and hints I have found useful & interesting.

The Fujifilm x100v seems outdated now since the release of the x100vi, however I’m not making the change anytime soon. I have a few cameras (Film and Analog), Fujifilm, Pentax and an Olympus and with all that I am always drawn back to the x100v.

Last week a friend and I decided to photowalk through the neighbourhood of Cottesloe in Western Australia. It was a typical summers afternoon, cloudless, a late sunset and plenty of harsh light. Photowalk’s can neither be right nor wrong, however should always be relaxing and bring a sense of achievement (Whether it be the 200+ photo’s you manage to capture or the 5kms you just walked listening to your favourite album or podcast or even the newest and best coffee shop you manage to stumble across).

This photowalk took place in February, so the sun sets late, the birds are chirping, people flock to the local bars or ice cream parlours and surfers are still in search for that perfect wave.

First stop was the local tennis club. there’s something so aesthetic about shooting a freshly trimmed tennis court with random tennis balls mishit across the 24 courts. (I feel bad for the visitors… can’t win ‘em all, i guess)

Blue Mind: The surprising science that shows how being near, in, or surrounded by a body of water can make you happier, healthier and more connected.

Unfortunately the water wasn’t producing too much on this day, the light was too harsh as the sun was setting, the contrast and shadowing wasn’t much to get creative with. The boardwalk was however, mixed with neatly stacked creates, a DIY chess board and probably an arranged designated smoking seat.
